"Airplane!" and "Zero Hour"

...that he parody classic "Airplane!" (one my favorite films) is based heavily on a 1957 film with a similar presence called "Zero Hour" - so much so that the Airplane producers bought the rights to Zero Hour and borrowed whole blocks of the absurd dialogue as an homage.

 

Be sure to watch the first video where it compares scenes between the movies.
