Badger Mountain Charlie SASS #43172
Welcome aboard, Mate! How do folks manage to stay on those "tin cans" at sea. I would guess one cruise would do it for me. Thank you for your service.

Bodine
My Grandpa was a tin-can sailor in WWII, U.S.S. Bennion DD662. I was on everything painted haze-gray and underway at one time or another, but most ofeten I was on shore at the shifitters shop in Charleston, S.C. or on the reserve frigate (forgot the name and number)training middies and reservists. Grandpa walked funny too, but he got a torpedo dropped on his left foot during a battle in the Pacific. Had to get custom shoes the rest of his life. He hated those kamikaze's and zeros, and told me if I ever bought a Mitsubishi he'd disown me!Bodine
