Blackwater 53393 Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 I think that cowboy poet Bob Dylan said it best! (he did kinda' play a cowboy in the movies ) "The times they are a changin'."
Captain Woodrow Cahill, SASS # 54363 Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 That police chief is the perfect NWO drone. "The law is the law and must be enforced". Whatever happened to exercising judgement? I think she should be arrested and charged with child abuse. You see the little girl crying in the interview? The Chief obviously inflicted all kinds of emotional distress on her.
Shakey Merlot Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 As I posted to Yahoo! when I read this - The common denominator among bureaucrats is stupidity. Shakey
Badlands Bob #61228 Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 I've lived in Jawja most of my life and I've never heard of Midway, Ga. Thanks to the internet, I can confirm that it does exist, barely. It's located in Liberty County which is between Florida and nowhere. They have a Chief of police and 3 officers. It didn't say who was in charge of lemonade regulations. The 2009 Midway budget, according to their website shows the P.D. salaries/benifits were $173,071 and the fines/forfetures brought into the city was $257,000. In addition to illegal lemonade sales, they must have a terrible speeding problem in this small town.
Forty Rod SASS 3935 Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Making the world safer, one stupid decision at a time.
The Shoer 27979 Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 My youngest son told me the local PD has been doing the same thing around here.
Marshal Mo Hare, SASS #45984 Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 My youngest son told me the local PD has been doing the same thing around here. Can probably bring in a little revenue by parking a cruiser on or near I-95. Top two things on the website are "pay water bills online" and "pay tickets online."
Badlands Bob #61228 Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 Top two things on the website are "pay water bills online" and "pay tickets online." They want to provide all them out of towners every convienence.

You know its funny Marshal all the PD in my county will NOT come out and investigate or report your car broken into but they will shut down those crime ridden lemon aid stands. No I am not bashing cops some of there polices yes, but not cops so don't go there
Blasted Cap Posted July 18, 2011 Posted July 18, 2011 I just hope that since they are under 16 they have the proper work permits. Strike 2.

Guest EL NEGRO GATO #8178 Posted July 19, 2011 Posted July 19, 2011 The cops shut these three girls not because they didn't have a permit, but because there was no free donuts to go with the free lemonaid ENG
Whiskey Business Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Good news about the little girls. http://www.foxnews.com/us/2011/07/28/georgia-girls-lemonade-stand-reopened-at-local-water-park-after-police-shut/?test=latestnews
Subdeacon Joe Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 Great news! Thanks for the update, Miss Whiskey.
Whiskey Business Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 You're welcome Joe. I was real happy to see the good people of Midway helping those girls out.
Mean Matt McCord, SASS #24683 Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 I've lived in Jawja most of my life and I've never heard of Midway, Ga. In addition to illegal lemonade sales, they must have a terrible speeding problem in this small town. I lived in Chatham County (next door) for 10 years. The story did not say whether the three girls were Army brats; that would have explained a lot. Liberty County is the home to Ft. Stewart, a large army base where Army Rangers do some of their training. The police down there have been notorious for harrassing army personnel and their families for as long as I can remember.
Chickahominy Charlie Posted July 29, 2011 Posted July 29, 2011 "The Midway Police Department wouldn't comment on the Midway Lemonade Girls' case, nor would the municipal court clerk. "There is an investigation going on for some criminal activity and we are not allowed to comment," court clerk Donna Davis told Foxnews.com." Geeeez..... ....."criminal activity?".....Really?......I guess my daughter's benefit car wash on Saturday could get a visit from the local SWAT Team..... Chick
Sergeant Smokepole #29248L Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 Since when has Officer's Discretion become extinct??????? Am I glad I retired.....
Pack Saddle Slim, SASS #73122 Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 "There is an investigation going on for some criminal activity and we are not allowed to comment," court clerk Donna Davis told Foxnews.com." Criminal activity!!!??? Like what? Perhaps they were lacing the lemonade with poison. Or, maybe the whole thing was a front for a brothel or even a money laundering ring. Or maybe the ten-year old is really a hit man (or hit girl) for the Mexican mafia. Gimme a break!!! I'm surprised the guy didn't break out a rubber hose and start whomping the powahden out of those crooks who just happened to be disguised as little girls selling lemonade. Gimme a break!!! Of course, my wife has just reminded me that the "officer was just doing his job in enforcing the ordinance." Yeah, sure...kinda like the policeman in Glendale, California, who called for backup in arresting an elderly couple in their 70's for jaywalking early one Sunday morning on their way to church.
Dirty Dan Dawkins Posted July 31, 2011 Posted July 31, 2011 I would instruct my kids to continue their operation til forcibly removed. At some point you have to not only stand up, but teach the next generation to stand up for liberty.
