Grizzly Dave Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 Wow, sorry I forgot to post it earlier, and now I should be getting to bed to get up at oh dark thirty to drive to a match by 8. Got the cart, umbrella, ammo, leather, etc loaded in the car, just need to add the irons and the cold drinks and neck wraps in the morning. Oh, hey, need to take the checkbook so I can buy some lead at the match, I got close to 1000 rounds waiting for lead. Sure hope it don't get too hot tomorrow, and that we can get the match in and drive home before the thunderstorms show up. Sunday is supposed to be around 100, so after church I don't see me doing much of anything. Maybe do some loading if the shop isn't too hot, but there isn't any air cooler out there, so we'll see. Otherwise I guess I'll stay in the house and watch Rango. Grizz

Aunt Jen Posted July 16, 2011 Posted July 16, 2011 Griz, really, if it's gonna be hot, then take one of those water-absorbing things and soak it in cool water, and put it around your neck. Soaking your shirt works, also. Just take out a bottle of (not cold bur normal) of water, take your hat off, and pour it on you all over. And you'll be fine. If it's too hot for that, then don't go. It's not worth risking your health. AJ
Grizzly Dave Posted July 16, 2011 Author Posted July 16, 2011 Oh yeah, I always drink lots of water, hot or not, and taking some gateraid as well. What's been getting me lately is the humidity, we're just not used to nearly 50 percent humidity out here, I don't know how the folks in the south put up with it. I take a 32 oz water jug full of ice and water, which is enough along with a gateraid on the less hot days, but when it gets hot it gets refilled a time or two.

Hated to bail out of the posse, but better that than possibly make them have to carry me off the range Yes, I was pouring down water and gateraid at a good clip, just not used to the hot and humid. Did shoot all 5 clean, and two of them in the 30s. I'll upload some vids in a while.

Not my idea, JJJ"s told me about it so since I am a transplant out here I did it. So far I am fine in the heat course shade helps too.. But I stand right out in it for a long time too. I can't tell you it will work for you, but I wanted to pass it on. I also did the stufff from the 99c store that is a powder and you put it in the water.. and it worked so far too. Take care of you....

Hotter than snot here, so not going to cut the grass that needs it. Since I wussed out and left the match early yesterday, I didn't have the chance to buy bullets, so no reloading today. Watched Rango yesterday, Not quite sure what I was expecting, but it wasn't quite what I expected, did enjoy it though. So what to do....

No matter, it's tumbling now and will be ready for powder and lead with the rest by the time the lead gets here.
