Yellowhouse Sam # 25171
where he discussed some of the issues surrounding old and new versions of sacrosanct movies. First of all, I liked his admonition to not take things seriously. As to the PC of such movies as Dancin With Wolves, a lot of footage went on the cutting room floor. My, my, they couldn't show braves waving a bunch of scalps around. One theme pounded in though time and time again was the total ineptness, corruption, and bungling of the U.S. government in handling Indian affairs or anything else for that matter. I won't get into that except to point out that Hollyweird can do anything to make a buck and that just as with True Grit you need to read the book. Because, in reality, the novel DWW was a pretty good read about Comanche Indians...not Sioux as depicted in the movie.
