Ok Prayer Posse Saddle up.

Recommended Posts

Since the 1st week in May I've been in quite a bit of pain in my left knee. It took about a month to get into see the PA of the best orthopedic specialist in town. Xrays showed that I have osteoarthritis in both knees but the right one doesn't bother me at all. The knee was quite swollen and she drained 76cc of fluid off it & gave me a cortizone shot. That lasted 5 days & I woke up in pain.

I had an appointment for a Synvisc injection in two weeks. I went back on the 23rd & she drained another 80cc off my knee, gave me another Cortizone shot & injected the Synvisc into the knee. It's made from the comb of a rooster, believe it or not. If I understood her correctly they'll do another injection in 6 months and another in a year. If it works I won't have to have a knee replacement. It has worked in about 80% of the people I've talked to that have had it done.

So far I must be one of the 20% because I'm sure having a lot of pain. The brochure they gave me on it says Synvisc can be given multiple times. I'm going to call tomorrow and see if I can get an appointment pdq.

Please put me on your prayer list for the Synvisc to work or that they can get me in for the replacement quickly & that it will be a success. After 2 mos+ of eating non-narcotic pain pills like candy this is beginning to get me down.

Thanks pards

Prayers up. I have had big toe joint replacement due to a fused joint from arthritis and that was bad enough to recover from. Hate to see any one have to have major joint replacement, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Good luck.

Wish you luck on the Synvisc - didn't work on either one o' my knees and had 'em both replaced.

Pards, you don't know how much I appreciate your prayers. I have an 8:30 appointment with the doc's PA in the morning & will post what happens.
