"The second* day of July, 1776, will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance, by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever more.

John Adams"

Git yore bells out, watch the parade, play some games, listen to the band, careful with the bonfires and illuminations and do Mr. Adams proud!

My hope is that if he popped out of a time machine tomorrow and looked around, even without even seeing a calendar, he would know it's Independence Day. Especially if he was in small town USA.

Celebrate!! :FlagAm:

*(note to non-history buffs: Congress voted to declare independence on July 2nd. The document wasn't signed till the fourth.)

:FlagAm: I spent the afternoon at the range with a friend, and we most definatly celibrated with a gun or two. Modern guns, old guns large caliber and small.

Land of the Free, birthplace of the Cowboy, and Cowgirls, and forever may it stand! :FlagAm:
