From Long, Long Ago...

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness

We all stand and and John Phillip Sousa begins to play the National Anthem. We remember how we got our freedoms, right back to our desire for Independence and every person in between, and we re-commit to the country and the life-style that promotes those ideals.

 

If anyone is in doubt? Just read things like the Declaration of Independence or the Bill of Rights—the Constitution as a whole.

I'm not old enough to remember John Phillip Sousa play the National Anthem...But if you say so, that fine...This year is the we should all read our Constitution as a whole...And remember what they signed for us...I would admit that I have not, but maybe it time I do...More than ever I should read it...

We need to warn our elected officials of this every few years . . .
