Can't Keep This Secret

Tomorrow morning at 10:00a.m. a newbie is bringing his 12 yr. old son up to my house to look at some leather and for me to introduce him to CAS. His father hasn't even started yet--nada. So this idea popped into my head about surprising the kid with a surprise visit from the "Man himself"------That Masked Man---you all know who I am referring to. I don't know if I can legally say his real stage name here but he rides a horse named "Silver". Here at our club his alias is "That Masked Man".

I am going to have him hidden in the media room and I am going to tell this 12 year old a little bit about the "LR" and then I am going to ask him if he would like to meet him and then----BOOM-----I'm going to open the door and there will stand That Masked Man. Can you imagine what a thrill that would have been if you were 12 years old again?

I will take pics and keep you posted on the outcome.

Sounds like fun, Charlie.

Just for the record, I can't remember ever being 12 years old.

I was 12 once, but I wasn't very good at it.

I might have some of these pics out of sequence.

This was a success story thanks to That Masked Man. I think the Mother was more excited and surprised than the 12 yr old kid. We are going to forego names at this point because we feel that they are really not important. What is important is the fact that a cowboy from a different town (appx. 70 mi.) was willing to take his time away from his family at his own expense and drive up to Gainesville, Ga. just to make a kid's day. Here is the story made short.

I got a call from this gentleman who asked if I could help him get his 12 year old son interested in cowboy action shooting. I offered to let him bring him up to my house on Saturday morning and let him look at my leather and my cowboy room. I explained to him that my time was limited that we were packing to go to Wyoming on vacation. So we agreed on 10:00 a.m. Right on time I got a knock on the door and when I opened it there stood Dad, Mom, 12 year old son and 4 year old son. Surprise!!!

The night before this all came about I called That Masked man and asked if he would be interested in surprising a 12 year old boy who was interested in CAS and explained my plan. He was more that willing to participate. So when the family arrived I chatted with them for a few minutes and then I led in with, "do you remember the Lone Ranger?" And of course they said yes because the father had introduced him to his son through DVD's. So I asked if they would like to meet him and they were in total disbelief that I knew the Masked Man himself. I told the Kid to go in the next room and knock on the door on the left. He did. These pictures speak for themselves. The whole family (except the little one)really enjoyed the event and will, I am sure, become active in cowboy action shooting thanks to--------who was he?
