Noz
I'll probably never go to EOT but I will attend The US Open for as long as they will let me. Great shoot, great facility (1000 full service RV hook ups) and centrally located in Sparta, Ill. An hour or so from St. Louis with all the good and bad of a big city. BJT
I did NOT mean to be hostile the multi black buckel winner said he was rating EOT as a whole and he knows entertainment as well as shootin geeeeeese good luck with the store Texas rocks from what I hear There were imporvements at EOT. Target placement was much improved. There was always water on every stage I shot. While there were issues with the shotgun targets, they were a vast improvement over the ones on the ground that fell into the holes that shot created. One improvement can not be claimed by mere mortals, the 7:30am stage went well for this BP shooter because of the dryness and wind. The ugly fact is that there are better shoots. I dare you to claim otherwise. I hope the Wild Bunch continues to find the expertise needed to continue to improve. Changes over the past few of years has born the fruit of improvement and I hope that trend continues. The World Championship should not be just good, it should be the best. Very Best Regards, BJT
Sergeant Smokepole #29248L
they don't need to move it, just get more close housing for those who don't want to or cannot camp. Two Feathers They do if'n they expect anyone not living in California, Arizona, New Mexico or Texas to attend. If you are 1500 miles away, it's neither economically feasible , nor schedule friendly for people with lives outside of SASS. Not wanting to deal with airlines with my firearms, ammo, and kit (the luggage costs will be almost 200 yankee greenbacks alone round trip)and the ammo weight restrictions prohibit my bringing enough ammo for a large match (limited to 20 pounds), and we're not even getting into camping gear if staying on property to the full experience or a motel and commuting, cost of a car rental etc.... Any way I look at it. it's going to cost me well over a thousand bucks before the first shot is fired or the first meal is eaten.... Then I am looking at over a week if I drive (I have a bad back and try not to drive more than 600-700 miles within a day or I will be flat on my back for a week.)away from the family responsibilities, especially with a wife that is not a shooter . If it were nearer the center, say around Branson, I could drive down in a day and the costs will be within reach.
Phantom, SASS #54973
Could there be a more expensive place to go than Kalifornia???????Maybe hold it in New York city????Any place else got a more friendly gun laws group?????Maybe the EOT should be held in Pakistan??????The logic for moving EOT is why california is in the condition it is....That's way alot of pards are leaving there pronto!!!!!Tuco. It was the California folks that Built EOT/SASS to what it is...and leaving CA wasn't due to the politics as much as some folks want to believe. PS: There are areas in CO that if expanded in population would turn your state into Kolorado...perhaps you should not throw so many stones. Nasty Nick
I suggested to them years ago that it would be great to have EOT at rotating sites (similar to the Olympics) and every four years bring it "home" to California. That way people in different parts of the country who couldn't travel to the west, or the one designated area, would be able to go since it would at some time be close to their own state. They didn't like the idea then, and I doubt if you'd get them to go for it now.
