Hammer Spring M73

Recommended Posts

Hello all and thank you for any info you have.

I just installed a short strock kit in my Stouger M73( ya ya good for me cool)

and it is working smoth and no binding. But: it seem to take more effort the cock the hammer with the lever than other peoples 73's with a kit. It is smoth and easy if the hammer it already cocked. Pulling back the hammer is much harder on my rifle then others I've tried. The others had a kit installed by a pro.

Does any one know who or where I can find a reduced power hammer spring for my '73. or is there another problem???

Again thanks for any Info

If it is a Uberti there are adjustment screws for the mainspring under the lever. A SS kit increases the cocking effort by having less mechanical advantage. You should be sure and check the timing after installing the SS kit........

For my money this is one of the best http://www.thesmithshop.com/ldmainsp.html , when properly installed according to the instructions mine is light but will still pop CCI primers. Adios Sgt. Jake
