Michael Thursday York O Rourke
Hello all and thank you for any info you have. I just installed a short strock kit in my Stouger M73( ya ya good for me cool) and it is working smoth and no binding. But: it seem to take more effort the cock the hammer with the lever than other peoples 73's with a kit. It is smoth and easy if the hammer it already cocked. Pulling back the hammer is much harder on my rifle then others I've tried. The others had a kit installed by a pro. Does any one know who or where I can find a reduced power hammer spring for my '73. or is there another problem??? Again thanks for any Info Mtyorkorourke@hotmail.com
Mink Shoals Bandit, #49388
If it is a Uberti there are adjustment screws for the mainspring under the lever. A SS kit increases the cocking effort by having less mechanical advantage. You should be sure and check the timing after installing the SS kit........ Mink......... Ranger Sgt. Jake McCandless #3368
For my money this is one of the best http://www.thesmithshop.com/ldmainsp.html , when properly installed according to the instructions mine is light but will still pop CCI primers.
