Armoloy process works well on firearms. It was used on shotguns and handguns for fisherman in the Texas Gulf of Mexico and they did not rust. They coated several of my competition pistols for their advertisement. I shot many a thousand rounds thru those guns with great sucess. No flaking or chiping of the coating. It will add about a thousandth thickness to your gun.

I think Wyatt is correct. They used to be Accurate Plating (long time ago?). Did Colt's nickel work....at least I think they did.....

Wyatt and Manatee are CORRECT. That is THE place to have firearms plated.

Call Accurate Plateting and Weaponry talk to Mr. Coogan. They are in Newville, Alabama, just north of Dothan. They Hardchromed my Open Tops a lot of parts on my Marlin and they also did my pards Winchester 97. Beautiful work. They also do a lot of the Custom guns coming from different manufactures.

Of course you can go to their website ape.com or just Google them.

Another vote for Bob Coogan. I had a pair of pistols hard chromed with a brush finish and they turned out great. They were pretty well worn out when I took them in. They came back looking and feeling like new!

He also does other custom work, like converting three screw Ruger Blackhawks to Vaquero style pistols.

I think they call it brushed. It is buffed with 400 grit. They will explain it better than I can. They also have a high polish if you like that. Usually anything round is 400 polished or brighter and any thing flat they leave a matte finish to keep glare down.

They do about everything including the camo finishes on AT 15's and other rifles. That finish is an adhesive.

Here are some photo's of my son Yancey James' Vaquero's. They were originally blue and colorcased. The only thing that was left alone was the frame. Everything else was hardchromed. Look at the front of the cylinders. Hardchrome makes getting those ugly burm rings off easy, very easy. Yancey removed the Ruger Bible as these are an old pair of Vaquero's and the Bible was on the upper side. His alias was engraved then they were Hardchromed.

The next set of pictures are of my Marlin that I shoot Black Powder in. I only did a few things in Hardchrome on it. Mainly the parts that might rust. The magazine tube is a big PLUS!!!!

All Hardchroming was done by Accurate Plating and Weaponry http://www.apwcogan.com/

Enjoy,

Daybreaker

I've had so many of my cowboy (and non-cowboy) guns plated by APW, I should be on their Christmas card list! In fact, I have two pistols there now!

You WILL NOT find a better company when it comes to chroming firearms!
