A Shotgun Trumps A Bow A Mendocino County man was arrested Friday after allegedly brandishing a bow and arrow in an ill-fated attempt to steal marijuana. According to the Mendocino County Sheriff's Office, a 46-year-old man called law enforcement around 6:45 a.m. Friday to report an attempted robbery at his home on Henderson Lane in Covelo. He claimed that suspect Hank Whipple, 24, had used a bow and arrow in an attempt to steal marijuana growing on his property. The victim, however, responded with pepper spray and four rounds of birdshot.
