Cabalero Chuck Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 Go here to see what 23.4 grains of blu-dot piled in a 44 mag does to a Blackhawk. http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=595480
Dubious Don #56333 Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 Hey...can I have the hammer???? See? There's a bright side to everything!
Pack Saddle Slim, SASS #73122 Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 See? There's a bright side to everything! Yep. For example, just be darn glad he was shooting a Ruger instead of a Model 29. It could've been a lot worse.
Seldom Seen #16162 Posted May 31, 2011 Posted May 31, 2011 Yep. For example, just be darn glad he was shooting a Ruger instead of a Model 29. It could've been a lot worse. Not really. I have seen blown up Model 29's with the exact same damage. Gun manufacters design them to blow up that way.

Jabez Cowboy,SASS # 50129 Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 It is far more likley that they will refuse to sell him any futher arms, than replace the Blackhawlk,,,, Deeming him not "Responcible" enough to have Guns ..... Jabez Cowboy
Stump Water Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 I like the 2nd post in the thread by the "me too" guy.
Tucson Jim Posted June 1, 2011 Posted June 1, 2011 Most of the Ruger wheelgun blowups I've seen, the topstrap holds intact. It'll bulge, but usually hold. Glad to see it spat parts straight up instead of backwards when it's bad enough to kill the topstrap.
