Prayers up.

North Minneapolis and Fridley Mn just got hit this afternoon, too.

Appears to be lots of damage but no real serious injuries.

p.s. When I posted, I had not heard of the fatality that Apache Hawk mentioned on the other thread

Called my Sister who lives in Springfield. Which is east of Joplin. And the

While not a severe as Joplin the Minneapolis tornado did EXTENSIVE damage. They are saying the largest twister to hit the area in 30 years!

Prayers up for everyone everywhere dealing with the devastation and loss.

Local station is now reporting 89 confirmed dead in Joplin and surrounding area. This has to be a real nightmare for the survivors. Can't imagine what those people are going through.

Death count is still going up.

May be awhile before they really know.

Looks like a whole housing addition wiped off the map.

Prayers out to everyone in that area. Those that did make it through lost

everything they owned.

This has been a very bad weather year. My heart goes out to those who have lost so much.

I live in Verona, about 4 miles south of the storm track.

This looks to be a real bad one. Death count will go up as debris is moved.

These storms create a sense of utter helplessness. Nothing you can do but pick up the pieces.

Joplin can't catch a break.

Heavy rain, debris floating in the streets.

Lightening is striking running generators to add to the woe.

As of last night they still had not been able to investigate all of the damaged buildings. Still looking for survivors.

116 dead and 17 live ones pulled out yesterday. Still a lot of "missing".

About 40% of a city of 55,000 destroyed.
