Jittery Jim Jonah, SASS #64913L
I just read the latest revision of SB 798.... The requirement to paint them bright colors has been stricken, but some new wording has it imposing a civil fine on the sale, manufacture, transportation, receipt, or distribution of imitation firearms for commercial purposes applicable to BB devices. Now while it does not say they are banned, imposing a civil penalty on any having anything to do with them effectively does just this. What business is gonna have anything to do with BB guns as a commercial enterprise and risk a civil penalty. The wording also seems to allow civil lawsuits. And the vague wording of commercial purposes can mean anything where you collect any $$. Seems to me this effectively BANS ALL BB guns in CA., execpt for private party exchanges. What do y'all think?
