Filthy Lucre, 55674L
Try www.oldfrontier.com Owned by Larry Bitterman. All clothes from period patterns and made in the USA.
Pancho Peacemaker
Hats: http://www.knudsenhats.com/hats.html (Look under the "cowboy" section for period correct cover. Bill Knudsen makes a fantastic hat, but the wait can be long. I own three of his hats and they are worth every dime.) Clothing: http://www.hamiltondrygoods.com/ (They offer more unique period clothing than the standard Scully / Wah Maker fare you see at most sutlers. Their '73 replica denim pants are really nice.) Birdgun Quail, SASS #63663
I bought the hat you see in my avatar six years ago from Miller Hats (link below). Still wear this hat to just about every match (even in a raining downpour) and it's now getting some "character" but still a good sound hat. My hat is the 418 "Townsend Cowboy Hat." Dantankerous
The book 'I See by Your Outfit' by Tom Lindmier and Steve Mount is a great resource for period correct attire for cowboy gear of the Northern Plains. Might be of some help. This link may also be of some use to you. Dan
Slowhand Bob, 24229
On a rainy day, when you have nothing to do fer a spell, sit in the old recliner and let your mind wander a bit. A good chew of backy will help here also! While relaxed, envision yourself back in the old west of your imagination and then right down what you saw yourself wearing during that visit. It should be a different image for each of us and mine was a rag-tag outfit made up from odd Confederate rags and worn looking scraps of Indian wear. Voila, an old Comanchero. When I want to play my age I wear what would pass for an aging Vaquero, an old gringo bandito or perhaps a ne'er-do-well aging city policeman. Cowboy Junky
You need to run up to Jacksons Western wear in Asheville NC. They have great prices and a LOT in stock....they have leather and accessories as well.....well worth the trip. Like other clothes cowboy clothes vary a lot and until you know what size in what brand you wear ordering on line may not be the best approach. 641 Patton Ave, Asheville, NC 28806 (828) 254-1812
