Plainsman question

Recommended Posts

Depends, there is no clear answer.

At the Shootout at Fort Miller last year, it was 20 pistol, 21 rifle and 25 shotgun. One stage only, average time was four minutes with the winner clocking in at 2 minutes 45 seconds.

Bowling balls released by a rifle shot, a cannon that shot a soda can 100ft into the air for a 20 second bonus, knockdown rifle targets at 50yards and oxygen at the finish line. Every finisher got an "I survived the Mother of all Plansman 2010" laminated card.

There were over 50 competitors.

It's called the Mother of All Plainsman for a reason.

This year we cut it down to three stages, 5-7 rifle, 10 pistol and 4-8 shotgun each stage.

Next year, back to the Mother. Plans are 20 pistol, 20 rifle and 25 shotgun. New moving targets, down range movement and more fun than should be allowed.

Possum up here they are usually three stages with 5 or 6 rifle rounds per stage, 10 handgun and 4 to 6 shotgun per. Rifle targets, 3, 4, or 5 are set up about 35 yards out. Handgun and shotgun targets are at normal distances.
