Looking for Good Knifemaker

Who has a good suggestion for a reasonably-priced knifemaker who can professionally put a new handle on my Bowie knife?

I have an old 1950's- or 1960's-vintage, German-made "Original Bowie Knife" that is excellent carbon steel, but had really cheap-o faux stag plastic grip panels. They shattered and fell apart, so now I have this knife that I like quite a lot that now has no handle.

I want to find someone who has experience and the ability to work in metal (brass, German silver or steel) and organic materials (wood, horn, bone, or antler) and who I can email for photos of their work.

Does anyone know of someone so skilled?

Thank you,

Cat Brules

I'll talk to you when I get back from Bakersfield

Thanks, Cole......I'll talk to you soon, then.

You can contact McShagnasty #452. He's been making custom knives for longer than SASS has been around. He has a large selection of deer and elk horn for handles. Located in Garden Grove CA. Next to Anaheim CA. Just sayin'

Also check with Rick Smith (Bear Bone) of http://www.bearbone.com

Great work - a craftsman.

I am IMPRESSED with what I saw at the site .... especially http://www.bearbone.com/knife_pages/510_Jigged%20Bone%20Coffin.html

Now that is an extremely well executed piece of cutlery. I would be proud to own it and wear it/use it. I don't impress easily BTW.... B) Thanks for the link.
