Lefty Wheeler
Howdy: Had an occasional problem with a double breech on my BSS when the selector switch was on the left barrel. With the gun on the right it never happened until today at a shoot. After looking for the cause I found out that the barrels would open before the rod fully retracted the pendulum mechanism or moved it rearward. If you moved the lever further it would work, but, when you moved the lever just enough the center catch arm that stops the pendulum from moving forward would not grab it. Removing a small amount of material off the surface with a jewelers file solved the issue. I placed the file between the pendulum and the arm and applied a light forward pressure to the pendulum. Holding the file lightly so as to not change the angle, slowly work the surface so that when the lever was turned just enough to open the barrels the pendulum cleared the center arm. I wish I had taken a picture to better describe the issue. If anyone has a problem with one this may be an area to look at.
