Non cas pistol question

Recommended Posts

I have owned several DW's, revolvers from the '70's, '80s and '90s plus one of their first 1911's (serial # 48). The early revolvers were good and the 1991 was exceptional for a plain gun. DW has undergone many ownership and management changes. I believe that they are making good guns under CZ's watch but they are pricey.

S&W is putting out a very good and consistent product for slightly less. My Doug Koenig Professional model has all of the features that I value and great fit-up of parts.

It really depends on what you want the very versatile 1911 for. A great deal for WB, perpetrator perforator and general shooting might be a real Colt plus an action job for well under $1500. Kimbers, Springfields, Paras and STI's have to be looked at as individual guns since their prices for the enhanced guns does not always match quality expectations. They are all good guns, but the prices make me expect more than some individual guns have shown.
