Slowhand Bob, 24229
If you really want to go first class on the learning process then check out Pleasant Vally Saddle Shop(think thats right??), run by Dusty Johnson. He sells a video, with patterns included, on chap making and the instructions show sizing techniques. I do not have it bookmarked but it shouldnt be hard to find if you are interested. Just fer the info there is also one offered on belt and holster making.

texas cowboy
Alamo, It's yer ole pard Tex Hewitt here. Definately Tandy. Here's one in yer neck of the woods St. Louis, 13078 Tesson Ferry Rd. St. Louis MO Ph. 314-842-2540 They sell the patterns, about 10 bucks as I recall, plus everything else your pard will need. Tell him to spend the 35 bucks to join the buyers club, it will save him a bundle if he gets into leather work. Tex

Slowhand Bob, 24229
Here is that link http://www.pvsaddleshop.com/BOOKS%20&%20VIDEOS.htm . I think he covers batwings, shotgun and chinks in this and, as said earlier, full size patterns are included. If memory serves me right the patterns are designed in quarter sections to accomodate a lot of size variation.
