where did all the good toys go

I went to buy a Fort Apache for my sons and since it is no longer made paid several dollars for bits and pieces. Newer made soldiers break at teh drop at the hat, when compared with old ones. I just found on ebay a western town with GREAT pieces to it from the 60s or 70s. They want 236 and I know it did not cost that back then. Why don't they make good toys like this anymore?

Where have YOU been, Mike?

The whole culture of the country has changed from the 1950s and the 1960s.

Children are taught new values. The culture of violence is discouraged.

The culture of kumbaya is here.

Toys reflect the culture of the times.

Probably a thesis could be written and perhaps has been, concerning the social pattern of children's toys.
