Colonel Dan, SASS #24025
I have always filed mine on 1 April. Why’s that you ask? What day could be more appropriate than the one exclusively set aside to recognize and celebrate foolishness? Just the view from my saddle…

Iron Pony
Col have always felt it was my patriotic duty to file as soon as possible. What with normally getting a refund I think its best to get MY money back into MY hands as quickly as I can.
Colonel Dan, SASS #24025
Good point Iron Pony! But....since I always have to write a check, I feel it most appropriate for me to stay with my 1 April SOP!
Iron Pony
Roger that Col. Not sure if servicemen can still do it but the first week of January was always a busy time for me doing taxes for guys in my unit. Used to charge the grand sum of $10, or a 12 pack of beer to do a 10-40EZ and guys would be lining up at my door in the barracks with their December LES in hand thinking about what they would buy with the refund. Ah the good old days.
