CZ Shotguns

I've got a CZ Durango 12ga. It was my first SASS coachgun and needed pretty major work to make it a shooter. In fact, Jan was going to shoot it last week at Pawnee but it had trigger problems. Indiana was kind enough to loan her a 20ga since she is now in love with her new SKB.

I'll bring it next time if you'd like to see it.

Since you are back from "Zombie World". That show was GREAT. I laughed all the way through.

If I am not mistaken... was that Brother King who came thru the door?

GREAT JOB!! A totally different show.

The M60 was AWESOME!!!!

Super nice, very tight fit and nice finish.

I had issues with mine when I opened it, it wouldn't quite open all the way. Problematic shoving shells in at speed. Heard about some fixes, didn't try them. Wish I'd have kept it because it was such a nice looking gun.

Had problems with the firing pins sticking in certain primers and the thing wouldn't open. Not so good on the clock ^_^

I have two Ringnecks (Single Trigger). One in 16ga that came from CDNN, and it's my favorite gun to shoot for Sporting Clays/Hunting. This one came from CDNN. Because of this gun I bought another Ringneck in 12ga for Cowboy Action.

I sent it to Goatneck Clem to have him work on it and it is now my main match shotgun. I love both of them and would highly recomend the CZ shotguns. As to CDNN they were very nice to deal with and I had no problems with them at all.

Hope you pull the trigger and get one.

Good Luck,

Brother King and Calico Cowgirl were indeed two of the Walking Undead who burst through the door to be slaughtered with the M-60...BTW, if I ever think of doing something like a zombie episode of anything, just hang me now! LOL!

Thanks for the info, and see you Colorado cow-persons at the Sand Creek match Sunday AM (very AM!)...

A friend of mine has been using a CZ Bobwhite, 26" bbls, choke tubes, English stock, for over a year with no problems, works very slick for him, I think Will Shootem did the action work. I was impressed enough that I bought one even though I am a 99% hammer gun shooter. Very easy to adjust lever spring and getting the barrels to open further. Fit and finish is very nice on mine, and so far it has had no problems. I shoot a Liberty II hammer gun which is made by the same company that does the CZ guns.

I shot a 20ga DeHaan S-2 for about 4 years as my main match gun. Then it was stolen last spring. I ultimately ended up replacing it with a CZ Ringneck. Basically the same gun- both made by Huglu in Turkey. Have not had any problems with them. The Ringneck IS pretty stiff, but I've only shot a couple of matches with it. Planning to have some work done on it after our next match is over. For the price, I could not pass it up- and it is a looker, as well.

I have done several and for the money I am pretty disappointed with the guns internals. In the past if you had a gun that was nicely finished on the outside you could expect the insides to be just as nice. That is not the case with these CZ shotguns. They are poorly fitted then atrociously over sprung to cover up the poor fit. You pay a premium for the fine external finish only.

Wolf Bane, be patient and stalk the auction sites, you can still find SKB's with filed wear in the $550-$650 range. My personal experience is that the CZ shotguns are nicely finished externally and a nightmare inside, I call them "cottage guns" becase no two are alike internally and it appears that they are made in different places by different folks. A friend of mine makes sense, Turkey can't even produce a decent pocket knife why expect any better with a shotgun.

I figger I will post a good review of a CZ shotgun. I picked up a used Amarillo that has run fine for the last year and a half shootin blackpowder brass cased ammunition. Guess all the problems was fixed by the first pard what owned it.

I got a CZ Bobwhite a few weeks ago and shot trap with it and it was wonderful. Its still a bit stiff to replace my stoeger yet, but I would think it would make a great SASS gun. People on Shotgunworld have run huge numbers of rounds though these CZ with no issues. It is built to last and has a 5yr warrantee from CZ.

So how do I adjust the lever spring and slick up how it opens some ;)
