Captain Woodrow Cahill, SASS # 54363 Posted March 24, 2011 Share Posted March 24, 2011 Did a teardown and cleanup on the Vaqueros today, and figured out a trick I thought I'd pass along. There are two spring & plunger units - one pushes on the bolt, the other on the pawl. A strip of scotchtape to hold them in place while putting the gripframe back on keeps them aligned and from backing out of the back of the mainframe. Once the gripframe is in place, pull the tape out and screw everything down. Saves a lot of having parts popping loose or getting a spring pinched. A strip of tape to hold the hammer pin in place while wrestling with the gate spring / trigger pin assembly helps too. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If you can't find any Scotch tape, let your left index and thumbnails grow some (if you are left handed, then the right index and thumbnails).
