I have a gun book with exploded views and does have the 1887 Winchester shotgun.

The Radocy manual Stepnmud's suggested is probably your best bet. Besides the schematic, it's got complete teardown instructions with good clear photos. They're inexpensive enough that it's worth buying one for every gun you own.

This link will allow you to access a owner's manual for a Chiappa 1887 shotgun, the guns are essentially the same except for manufacturer's part numbers, pricing, and for all we know the parts are NOT interchangeable.

All that said, pages 12 and 13 have an exploded diagragm and key for the shotgun design. Disregard the Chiappa part numbers, I would suspect that there are no correlation between an IAC / Norinco, a Chiappa, or an original Winchester.

I think my good friend John Boy got confused for a brief moment. I will tell you that after looking at the diagram you will see a pin called the Breech block pin. You need to make or buy a pin that matches this pin to make the act of taking apart and putting back together again an easy one. I tried it without this for one time only.The pin should be made about .025 shy of the width of the breech block with rounded edges. I made mine out of brass.The book Gunsmithing Guns of The Old West 2nd Edition by David R. Chicoine gives you the full and clear diagram with instructions to make it easy. My first attempt would have been much easier with the aid of this book.
