Blackwater Bart SASS # 60215
I am looking at purchasing a 4" 22 mag Smith or Colt. Colts in that caliber are hard to find in a double action for a reasonable cost. I am not a collector just a guy who likes 22 mag. All of a sudden several older Smiths in this caliber are on gunbroker. (models 51 and 48) I found out why. Smiths web site now shows a 4" model 48 as a new gun. So, not being knowledgable on Smith revolvers I was wondering if an older one might be a better quality gun.
Red Logan #12252
Just an opinion, but I work part time as a gun tec for a sport shop, and I'll NEVER buy a new S&W... I'll take an older one any time. the new models with the Ralph Neider safty lock cause to many problems... quality control and poor fiting... Some will dispute my comments, as well they should... I'd look for an older mod 48...
