"New Pistol's" Octagonal Barrel Ruger Blackhawks

Slick McClade

Recommended Posts

Just thought I would share the pics of my wife's new Octagonal Barrel Ruger Blackhawks. I ordered the pistols, sent them to Jimmy Spurs for some of the best action work I have ever felt in my life. After getting that done I sent them to a cousin of mine located in Marshal,AR (co owner of R&C custom guns). When the pistols arrived they took a shilen barrel blank and milled out the 4 5/8 octagonal barrels (cut the forcing cone to 11 degrees), fitted it with a new metal ejection rod housing and finished it off with a great blue job.

They arrived via UPS today and boy they are great, I've already made plans to have a stainless steel set made for me!! :)Next they will go to my pal Joe Perkins owner of outlaw grips and be fitted with a very nice set of blonde buckeye burl gunfighter grips. Sorry for the poor quailty of pics they really dont do these pistols justice. Hope you enjoy looking at them.

Good looking guns, wish I could afford a pair.

At either the first or third convention, Larry Crowe was a vendor & speaker. His personnal guns were in SS and set up the same. As you said they were great guns.

Slick McClade, if you don't mind saying; How much did it cost you to have two guns done with the octagonal barrels? Or better yet, how much will it cost you to have Jimmy Spurs do two guns with the octagonal barrels in stainless steel? I have a couple of Bisley's that I would love this work done to. Smithy.

Pard,

Please consider going to the ruger website and email the ceo about your guns.

He will probably email you back and then you can reply and attach pix of your guns.

It might work out that he could put such guns into production.

I emailed him about 22/45s with replaceable grips and now its not only offered

but ruger has several variations.

They also sold me a very early 22/45 rp.

Best

CR
