Concho Billy
Yes I know this has been covered before and I should have listened then......I traded for an older (but in very nice almost unfired condition) 1866 Uberti in 38 special. The gun has a very tight chamber and will only fire factory 158 grain round nose lead or a bullet loaded to the length of a factory load, and then ran back through the sizing die. Is there a way to replace the carrier or is this a wall hanger......live and learn I guess.
Larsen E. Pettifogger, SASS #32933
Go here and read this. http://www.theopenrange.net/forum/index.php?topic=5274.0 This explains the problem with the early Ubertis with the short carrier. You need to put a little bevel on the front of the carrier, then it will feed a wide range of .38's with no problem.
