1911 trigger

I'm 1911 izing a comercial pistol. I need a long smooth face trigger to ape the ones found on pre 1911A1 pistols, but have not been able to find one. I hope veteran "wild bunch" participants can help me.

Brownelle's has all you'll want. Don't know if anyone makes the specific one you're looking for. Bear in mind that these are not drop in parts and require gunsmithing to work and be safe.....Doc

I like Ed Brown's long solid trigger, and if you don't like the serrated face, file off the serrations - the trigger shoe is aluminum and easy to polish up.

Brownell's usually has some variety to choose from - call them for a discussion or see:

http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=26627/avs|Style_1=Long/Product/SPRINGFIELD_EMP_TRIGGER (face is serrated)

http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=24569/avs|Style_1=Long/Product/1911_AUTO_LIGHTWEIGHT_TRIGGERS

But the Cylinder and Slide long match trigger may be what you really want:

http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/pid=23562/avs|Style_1=Long/Product/1911_AUTO_SOLID_ALUMINUM_MATCH_TRIGGER

It is smooth right from the factory!

Good luck, GJ

Midway USA, STI, have triggers. There are some triggers that the angle on the back where the disconnector rides has changed so there is almost no takeup. Don't know what gun you have but I found that drop in sear and hammers work really well. Cylinder and Slide is a source. I can do a 2.5 trigger but the work to get there is not worth it. As cautioned before, if you are not familiar with the 1911, the best bet is to let someone that has experience work on your gun. A full auto on the line is ugly :-)
