Chili Ron
Howdy, I have a chance to buy a Colt Cowboy at a good price. I saw some of these when they first came out and not for quite a while. A good pard says they are junk and parts are not available. I have found articles that claim shooters couldnt tell the Cowboy from the Peacemaker on the firing line..... So do any pards shoot Colt Cowboys? Anyone stuffed one in a trashcan? I would especially like to hear from anyone shooting one Colt Cowboy and one Peacemaker. Thanks aheadotime. Chili Ron
Thanks Pard, I completely missed the first post, and I even commented on the second. BUT its a little different when one is put in front of ya. I did a search and over 100 posts came back and the first few were clutter so I thought Id ask. From what I see on the Wire the trick is to get later production or skip it. It might all come down to price, like usual. Best CR
Hashknife Cowboy
I did have one, fit of metal was poor, grouping at 25 yds was dismal. Sadly I had higher expectations from Colt but it was a dud. Sold it and cannot reccomend it unless you are just going to take the collector route. I own several varieties of Colts all but that one are tremendous. Hope that helps..... Ricochet Roy, SASS #71853
Howdy CR, I have owned 2 Colt Cowboys. The 2 that I owned were great, fit, finish, function, POA all great. I have sold mine to buy other guns. I love Colts and I shoot Colt SAA's for my main match pistols. If they look to be NIB or near new and the finish is awesome, IMHO they are worth in the $350.00 to $500.00 tops range. Colt came out with the Cowboy to compete with the Rugar Vaquero, it was not well received. Roy
