Birdgun Quail, SASS #63663
I saw two of 'em, True Grit and The King's Speech. I thought both of them were Oscar-worthy. For you guys that hate movie theaters, but like movies, rent both of them when you can. They are two great movies. Agree!
Pulp, SASS#28319
Instead of watching the Hollyweird stuff, I put "Jonah Hex" in the DVD player and watched some Hollysuperweird stuff. Actually, I kind of enjoyed it, but it won't go into my list of favorites.
Utah Bob #35998
I watched a bit of the lame show when commercials were on during the PBR. Wow. Lame and boring. Except for the Bob Hope hologram. They broke the mold with that guy!
Ornery Cuss
I would just like to state that I have seen none of the films up for Academy Awards. Not a one. Zip. Zero. Nada My wife and I love English movies, and I like English history, so The King's Speech was a 'must-see' for us. It was everything we could have hoped for. Excellent movie. I have never watched the Oscars (although my wife has from time to time), but when I realized this morning I had missed Anne Hathaway, I did kick myself a time or two. Big Sage, SASS #49891 Life
Wife and I saw True Grit when it came out....was pretty good. Had to go to Farmington, NM for my annual checkup with my Oncologist and then had lunch at the Red Lobster and went to the movies. Great day out...Farmington is 75 miles each way. Watched a little of the Show last night, but it really gagged me. Our small theater here in town started showing True Grit a month after it came out. Didn't see any of the other ones...probably glad too.
