WEEDY SASS#653
I watch this seller on ebay for things out my way. This is out of reach by miles. Would make a nice safe for someone if you had a way to move it. http://cgi.ebay.com/Antique-Meilink-Storage-Safe-Circa-1915-Baltimore-/330531917620?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4cf53ccf34 Just thought I'd post it here if anyone could use it. I'd be all over it if it was several thousand miles closer.
rippin kid
That would be nice only 80 miles away but how do you get a 1000lbs safe down two sets of steps? Then do you hire a lock smith to figure out the combination?

Tom Foolery U.S.M. #2348
Hey Weedy, Check this one out. I have a standing order for when they get in the tall version of this one. http://www.solvangantiques.com/cgi/dbquery?find+*sac+products+id+4094+0+40+itemtitle+html/full.html DS Double Scotch, I think the SOLVANG ANTIQUE shop closed over a year ago. They had great stuff. As for the UNKNOWN COMBINATION, if the door is open and the door back can be removed, some combination locks have a small port in the rear of the lock. By watching that port, you can work the dial until all the notches line up inside the port. Worked on mine TF
WEEDY SASS#653
Double Scotch, I have a small safe like that but it's not that nice looking. Mine needs a paint job. As for the no combo part, as long as the door is open it's no big deal, door closed and locked BIG DEAL

Chuck Would, SASS # 53289
That would be nice only 80 miles away but how do you get a 1000lbs safe down two sets of steps? Then do you hire a lock smith to figure out the combination? You call the local safe company that has a rigging service. If the safe is open, changing the combination is not an issue. If it's locked, a good "safe man" can open it in minutes either by manipulation or driling into it. Most Lock Smiths are NOT "safe men". When my past employer downsized we had three good sized record safes that needed a good home. I got them for nothing. Local Safe Company/Rigger charged me $500 to move them to my home and I sold the smallest one for $500. I ended up with two Moslers for free. Most people do not want a large safe. A lot of times you can pick up the big ones for a song. Hope that helps,

Just purchased a 1930's pay phone from them a month ago. GREAT Antique store. They have some incredible items. Dog Ears...Ya a little $$$$$ but you only go around once.
