My man cave

Recommended Posts

We finally finished the main room of the man cave. I have a room for tying flies and another for reloading. This is for relaxing.

Looking at the South wall. The small frame to the right of the TV is a copy of the Dawes Roll showing my grandmothers tribal registration. The rifles are: Original 1895 Winnie (from 1906); original 1886 (made 1889) and a 1894 (from 1902). The shotgun is an 1897 marked Adams express (also 1902)

Towards the stairs. The capote is made from pre-1870's Hudson Bay Blankets.

Very nice... A few years back I had a steamer trunk that belonged to my grandmother like yours. My sister lost her middle son on the streets of phoenix AZ, he left a wife to be and a baby girl. I guilted the inside of the trunk, refinished the outside and gave it to her. Bitter sweet to see one again. Thanks so much.. great photos.. Thanks so much.

You have great taste in art. I say that because I have both of those Marian Anderson prints as well as several more of hers

Wowzer!

That's nice! All it needs is a sewing machine and a PC and I could live in there.

All I have is a 10x12 room (a woman cave?) with sewing machines, TV, laptop, and dog bed. Hubby has two garages; both with heat and air, one with a TV. Sigh! You guys have it good.

Regards,

Thank you all for the compliments:

The wife used this for her writing group (until they got too many people) and for ironing. Upstairs is her craft room with sewing machine, her doll collection, dress form, etc. She made the capote for me. She and I did the floor and she painted the downstairs.

RE: Randalls: Yes, there's a No.1 and a No. 14. I also have a No. 23, a little bowie, and a No. 8. The stains on the No 1 are from elk blood. Some of the others are Russell Green Rivers (I'm refinishing the handles in birdseye), and a couple or three by Chuck Stapels, a friend from our time in SoCal. Also, a couple I made.

The blankets are Pendletons included a couple of limited edition National Park blankets and a limited, commemorative honoring the National Wildlife Refuge system. Several are from the Yakama Nation that I bought at pawn shops on the Rez.
