Madison Gentleman Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Hey pards: Having loaned an Uberti Cattleman to a friend I got it back with the firing pin broke and it won't cock. I think I saw a kit advertised with competition parts for the Uberti cattleman. I'm having a hard time relocating that ad. Does anyone remember OR knows where such a kit might be purchased??? I would like to have parts on hand before working on it. SFC army (ret) NRA life member. NAR member Mad G
DocWard Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Yikes! With friends like that.... I have seen Wolff spring kits for the Cattleman, but I don't recall seeing a firing pin. Pretty sure I saw them in Brownell's and Midway.
Remo, SASS #17644 Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Brownells has a section in back pages of the big catalog that lists parts for the Cattleman series but are listed individually.
Smoken D Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Here is the firing pin from Brownells My link
Driftwood Johnson, SASS #38283 Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 Howdy I'm not aware of any rebuild kits. But if I was looking for parts for an Uberti revolver I would go to VTI gunparts. Nothing against Brownells, but all VTI does is sell parts for cowboy guns. They are very familiar with the products, and just which part you need for just which gun.
Abilene, SASS # 27489 Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 M G, Broken firing pin AND it won't cock? Those problems aren't related are they? I mean, do you know how they occurred or did the gun get dropped? As mentioned, the only "competition" parts for the gun are the main spring and trigger/bolt spring. VTI does sell parts kits, I don't think they are on their website so need to call them. The parts kits are kinda pricey and tend to have various screws as well as some internal parts. Good luck.
Colt McCloud, SASS #65003L Posted February 10, 2011 Posted February 10, 2011 VTI Gun parts +1 to that Doc! Give the folks at VTI a call as hammers and firing pins vary on the model of Uberti you have. They will help you get what you need! They are also the supplier for Brownell's which might tell you something.
Madison Gentleman Posted February 10, 2011 Author Posted February 10, 2011 Thanks folks: I am almost always impressed with the kindness and helpfulness of SASS folks,, Mad G
