Hi Again,

I was just informed that hotel and motel rooms in Cheyenne, Wyoming will be at a premium this summer due to oil business construction going on in the area. In addition the Hitch Post motel is no longer open.

The Cheyenne Regulators have reserved 30 rooms (double occupancy) at the Holiday Inn on Fox Farm Road. The details are posted on the Cheyenne Regulators web site.

Make your reservations early. The closest lodging outside of Cheyenne is south in Wellington and Fort Collins, Colorado.

Don't forget we have limited on site dry camping available on a limited bases.

See you in July,

Marshal Jack Murphy

BTT, I really hoping to make it, I just need to line up my ducks to be sure I have the gold dust. If nothing else I reckon I'll come up and wander around one day, well worth a visit even if you can't shoot it.

BTT for those that missed this over the weekend.

Grizz,

You can always sign up as a conventioneer and be eligible for all activities except the Main Match and Prize Drawing. This way you could shoot in the warm-up match and wild bunch match on Thursday, attend casino night on Friday and the banquet on Saturday. I believe that there are a few thing to do on Sunday also. Definitely make it up for at least one day just to say HI.

Roy,

There is a huge oil discovery east of Cheyenne. They have just started drilling and extracting crude. It is expected to

become the largest oil field in the Rocky Mountain Region. Good news for our local economy. Bad news if you're trying to find a room or an RV spot in the summer. Typically, this time of year occupancy rates run around 25%, right now occupancy rate is 50% and rising along with room rates. Terry Bison Ranch is a great facility and is a fun place to stay, AB campground is even closer to the range. If you plan on coming to HOW plan ahead, make reservations and lock in your rates now! See you @ HOW.

Roy,

There is a KOA about 25 miles south right off I25 at the Owl Canyon exit. Wellington is another 5 miles south and they have motels there. I don't know if the oil field work in Wyoming is having an impact on the lodging in Colorado or not. Like LL says make your plans early and we'll see you @ HOW.

Thanks Pards for your info on camping and such. Our son lives in Glenwood Springs, CO, and when we come to visit in the summer we like to travel to Wyo. and go to CFD, we are big Rodeo fans, and IMHO CFD is the best we have ever gone to. This last year we camped at the Terry Bison Ranch which we really liked. Beginning this year we are starting to book our plans on taking our business "Ricochet Roy's Old West" on the road as Vendors at CAS matches and we are considering HOW. This will be our first year on the road. We will be starting off at the Shootout at 5 Dogs Creek at the end of April, which is in Bakersfield, CA. Lucky me, my wife  will watch the tent while I get to shoot the match. :D
