Caprock Leatherneck, SASS #54382 Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 I bought a nice SS Baikal, however it is a 1/2 to short for me. My plan is to add 1/2 of hard shoe rubber or such. My problem is I cannot figure out how to remove the White Line. Thanks for any pointers. Caprock
Doc Windshadow Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Standard installation called for a thin slit in the rubbed of the pad to admit the screw and screwdriver (a drop of oil in the screwdriver will prevent parking the pad now some smiths would glue the slit closed when the finished the final tightening which can make the slits hard to find also you have to guess at the type of screw head they used but locate and if needed recut the slits and then unscrew because of the taper you will I expect need to fit a new pad after you make and fit your spacers The Brownells web site has good step by step instructions Pf course fitting a leather lace on butt cover would be far simpler and cheaper too boot

Now why didn't I think of the Butt Pad. Many thanks
Doc Windshadow Posted February 7, 2011 Posted February 7, 2011 Glad it was of help some folks also pad the slip over pad to adjust the angle of the butt as most of the SG targets in our sport are on the ground rather than flying over head
