Tulsey, SASS#11236
My much repaired Charles Daly 500 20ga butstock broke again. I sent it to a stockmaker and have been quoted $250 rough fitted and non-finished. Place in Arizona has factory orignal English style for $200, but no pistol grip like mine has. I would have to change the trigger guard for that one. For a cowboy shooting gun, I just can't see spending that much to have a gun banged around in a gun cart. Any other ideas? The Browning BSS looks similar on the outside, probably since both made by Miroku, but inletting is completely different. Stock keeps breaking in the inletted area and several people have tried using wood dowels and all that. Maybe I should just wrap the thing with bailing wire. It would at least almost look period.
