Guest Sheriff Pack Wolf, SASS #31917
This rifle is a WESSON & HARRINGTON, Gardner, MA Selling 45/70 NEF Buffalo Classic rifle with lots of extras. New England Firearms was the original maker. WESSON & HARRINGTON I have a 45/70 short barrel, factory mated to it, with the ejector/kicker in it. The current H&R rifles are not made with a kicker/ejector to my knowledge. The BC also has a kicker, and also a part that is modified (Brownells part)so as not to allow the kicker to engage, in case you want to shoot long range Buffalo Rifle events. Can't use the kicker in that event. The NEF BC has the steel trigger guard and the steel forearm spacer mate to the reciever. Later ones are plastic. It has a 1" steel weight about 10" long in the butt stock. This steel trigger gaurd, spacer and wieght were factory mods done for the old Buffalo Classic Shootiing Society of which I was founding member, #11. Lastly it has a long range Smith ladder reciever mated sight (legal), that to my knowledge, is not available any more. A short run of them were made by Smith enterprises. The BC also has a steel reciever welded tang,. added to mount a soule sight on it.. It also has been trigger tuned by a quality gun smith. This is a great find if you want a versital system. I am leaving the Plainsman game, as arthritus will not allow my thumbs to cock my revolvers well. I have no need in other firearms. Thanks . This is what I have in this rifle. Ejector part ( modified)-------$15.00 Globe front sight--------------$20.00 NEF didn't come with a front sight. Smith ladder sight------------$125.00 Unavailable now, originally $160.00 Factory fit 22 " barrel------ $101.00 Unavailable with kicker now. Extra forearm stock -----------$20.00 Steel Trigger gard, spacer -----$70.00 Factory Modification, Unavailable now. Gun smithing -----------------$165.00 Trigger job,..tang inletting, and welded tang. NEF BC Rifle------------------$300.00 No longer available. ------------ $816.00 I would knock off some of the gunsmithing and you can't even get this package nowdays. I would take $650.00 + the shipping. The rifle is in great condition with a few handeling marks. It is very accurate with properly worked up loads. I won the Quigley bucket shoot last fall at the Raid in Byers Colo., and many previous long range matches. It is light and fast. Mostly I have used it in the Plainsman matches with the short barrel. Think about this, as it is a good package. You won't seee one like it, and the value is certainly there. I will be at Winter Range for a FTF. Kickers are not available any more. http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y96/1bison/Buffalo%20Classic/BuffaloClassicPhotos010.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y96/1bison/Buffalo%20Classic/BuffaloClassicPhotos008.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y96/1bison/Buffalo%20Classic/BuffaloClassicPhotos007.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y96/1bison/Buffalo%20Classic/BuffaloClassicPhotos006.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y96/1bison/Buffalo%20Classic/BuffaloClassicPhotos005.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y96/1bison/Buffalo%20Classic/BuffaloClassicPhotos004.jpg http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y96/1bison/BuffaloClassicmods003.jpg Thanks, Pack,....... Assassin
Hey PW, Trade you a Springfied 1911(U.S. Model) for the rifle. It's got 4 or 5 mags, RCBS carbide dies, brass, and some lead, maybe 20 rounds through it. Just don't understand why anyone would enjoy shooting a bottom feeder over shootin' black powder revolvers. That WB stuff will pass with all the rules and such. Do you even get dirty shooting WB? I'll be @ Pawnee on Saturday if you want to see it. LL' I'm very flattered that someone such as yourself would be interested in my rifle. Your offer is fair, and I may ask you to look at it, but I just purchased a used 1911, and it was a POS. It is in the S&W depot in Comanche, Texas, getting rebuilt right now. It is the first time I ever got hacked buying a gun. It certainly can happen. See you at Pawnee. I'll bring some coyote calling stuff to show you. They will start getting hungry now that all of the fighting and,.. well you know, is over. It's the thumbs, man,..the thumbs,..can't cock the revolvers well any more. Besides,.. WB is taking over. It is time to let you young guys dominate. See,..I learn from hunting coyotes.
