I'm looking forward to the match Saturday at Pawnee Station

Remember, 5th Saturday matches allow the Big Bore, Outlaw, Wild Bunch, Pistolero and .22 categories!

If you didn't shoot the 3rd Saturday match, don't forget to get your 2011 Waiver Form from the website and fill it out and bring it to the shoot.

Current forecast is half decent showing sunny, high of 38 with zero chance of precip, but we all know that forecasts are iffy at best.

YeeHaw! Lets go shoot!

Who was the ROCKET SURGEON that cancelled the Sand Creek shoot on Sunday. What? The sun was going to be too blinding? How about cancel the shoot when there actually IS weather not a week ahead when someone think maybe there COULD BE weather. Sheeeeeshhhhhh

Meanwhile, Briggsdale (where apparently there really are cowboys) went ahead on Saturday. It was a cold northwest wind, but no precip at all. The wind blew so hard that I watched all 100 pounds of Sonora Blaze wave around like a flagpole on the first stage!

If you haven't been to Briggsdale Shootists lately then you're missing a great match. New attitudes, new stages, new targets and new MD's have really made it a challenging but very fun shoot. Targets are all close, big enough and straight forward.

I want to go easy on those guys and gals.

They have to drag out all the steel and props, and set up each time, and put it away. They are a great group of Cowboys and cowgirls!! If it isn't in their best interest to have a shoot, I will take their word for it, and be thankful for the next shoot they put on.

The new Raid schedule is going to be a good time. JUNE!

Oh sure... make me the bad cop... take the airey, fairey KUMBAYA moment.... sheeeeshhhhhh   ;) What about that poor bugger that got up Sunday- saw it was all clear, loaded his rig and drove clear out to EAST JESUS COLORADO? If I meet him, I'll be sure and send him over to see you for a refund of his fuel money.

Shooting last in your category must be weighing heavy on your mind. After Winter Range I'll show you bhow that Classic Cowboy is supposed to be done.

If that bugger was you, I would get on the Raders mailing list and get the updates, as we all try to do in this cold, snowy, windy,

last minute, climate.

Thursday, January 20th.

"Howdy folks,

Due to poor weather conditions, the Sand Creek Raider January Cabin Fever Match is cancelled. Please watch the website and your emails for updates as we would like to hold a make-up match in February.

See our website for links to other clubs who may still hold a match this weekend or enjoy the last weekend of the National Western Stock Show!

Thank you,"

Like I said,.. they take good care of you. I like them, airey or fairey and singing Kumbaya.

I'm glad that I won't be last anymore after Winter Range. When we're down at Sand Creek I'll get all the CC's together and we'll sing friggin' KUMBAYA for you and have a group hug.

It was blowing so hard here Saturday so cold I couldn't keep a cowboy hat on even with a stampede string. 7 stalwarts showed up. We all shoulda and wished we woulda stayed home with the smart folks. Just plumb plain mizzable.

Well Sonora Blaze and I were happy you all went ahead with the match at Briggsdale. It was windy alright but not worse than we have shot in other winter matches before and you won't meet a nicer group of Cowboys and the stages were fun and targets well placed, all in all a great match. Unfortunately Sonora and I can only make it to Briggsdale when the Sand Creek Raiders don't shoot (as the 4th Saturday is our setup day ---- normally) so it was great to get up there again even with the 100 mile each way trip.

You boys need to learn how to aim your hats, with no strings attached.

There'll be plenty of time for sleeping when you're dead.

Louisiana,

That is true. However I had to drive 3 hours to get there and I would be dead trying to drive that far. Kiowa had to work so would have been just me. So for safety I stayed home :(

Filly, smart call I think. Take it from someone who HAS fallen asleep driving. Back when I was young and foolish and working third shift and not getting much sleep at all. Thankfully the only thing damaged was my car, and maybe a ditch along 287.

Weather forecast now calls for sunny and a high of 48 degrees, zero chance of precip.

Should be a great match!

Should be a ton of fun, think I'll bring a few more shotgun shells than last time :D Came close to running out two weeks ago. I've been thinking of bringing a big old sheepskin coat of mine to sell, but don't know that tomorrow would be the best day as warm as it's sposed to be.
