Bull Creek Cole Posted January 23, 2011 Posted January 23, 2011 Can someone give me a good light load that will work for CAS? I will be shooting a Stoeger coach with 20" fixed chokes(IC and mod.) and preferrably 7 1/2 shot. I would like to find a 7/8 oz. or 1 oz. load if possible. Shot is getting expensive. Thanks, Bull Creek Cole

Captain Woodrow Cahill, SASS # 54363 Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Smokeless or BP?
Dubious Don #56333 Posted February 14, 2011 Posted February 14, 2011 Anything with Red Dot, use the lower end of the chart for target loads. 7/8oz seems barely enough to me so I use 1oz. I'd prefer 1 1/8oz but the last bag of shot I bought (after the match saturday) cost 42 bucks so 1oz it is. You can save money on wads by using Claybuster rather than name brand Winchester. They are identical and if you buy the 500 bags are a better deal. The WW pink wads WAA12SL seem to give the best crimp with a 1oz load for me using STS or AA hulls.
