Ivory Jack, #8534 LTG Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Hi, Who do you like? Thanks, Tom Ricochet Roy's Old West
Dream Chaser, SASS #79316 Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 http://whyteleatherworks.com/ I have been very happy with the lever wraps I got for my Marlin from Mark. Got the longer one (I think it is 5 snaps). Cheap, nice looking, easy to remove, works great. Dream Chaser SASS#79316
Ranger Sgt. Jake McCandless #3368 Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Here's my favorite http://www.cowboy45special.com/lever_wraps.html ,just ordered another one last night. Adios Sgt. Jake
Iron Pony Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 I like the roll of leather lacing I picked up at the craft shop. It takes about 10 minutes to wrap the lever and serve it in place. I lay two additional strips of the leather on the inside of the lever and then spray the whole thing down with balistol.
Paladin Gun For Hire Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Hi, Who do you like? Thanks, Tom Just ordered one from Ricochet Roy,I think it will work out very well.
Colorado Coffinmaker Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Plus one to McCandless. I like AJ's lever wraps too. Coffinmaker
Smithy Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 I got mine from Kirkpatrick Leather http://www.kirkpatrickleather.com/product/h_blw.htm It's made of Buffalo leather so it's soft and really cinches down to stay in place. Smithy.
Pay Dirt Norvelle #90056 Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 I have one from Ricochet Roy also. The only problem is that I have to wait 10 days to get my rifle out of jail so that I can put it on. The leather is very soft so it should work fine for me.
Klondike SASS Life #29713 Posted January 22, 2011 Posted January 22, 2011 Cowtown Katy has plenty of padded lever wraps, any color you can imagine. Check out her page, let her know what you want! Won't rust your lever either. Cowtown Katy
Ivory Jack, #8534 LTG Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 Yesterday I had Ricochet Roy install a couple of his lever wraps on my '76 and '86 Winchesters. The wrap really dresses up the rifles (not to mention saving the backs of my fingers!) Thanks Roy! '76 '76 Detail '86 '86 Detail
Chicken Coop SASS 5791 L Posted January 24, 2011 Posted January 24, 2011 I'm with Iron Pony. All I do is wrap each lever with a deerskin leather skinny strap from the muzzle end to the hammer end, and tie it off with a square knot. Just checked my safe, there are six of those lever-actions in there with the same deerskin wrap, some going back to 1995. Can you say, "KIS". Chicken Coop

Paladin Gun For Hire Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 Just installed Ricochet Roy's wrap. Went on easy, feels good, looks good and I'm sure it will nock at least an hour of my times !!!!!
Pit Bull Tex Posted January 29, 2011 Posted January 29, 2011 I use Roys. I have put it on three of my 92s and on my 39a and on my grandson's henry. I love them.

Rube Burrows Posted January 30, 2011 Posted January 30, 2011 Has anyone installed a R. Roy wrap themselves? Are they pretty easy to make look good?
Ricochet Roy, SASS #71853 Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Howdy Pards, I just wanted to take a moment to thank all of you who took your time to post your kind compliments here on the SASS Wire & again on another thread in the SASS Classifieds, and as well, all of you who sent your complimentary emails, I am deeply humbled, and I just want to say thank you. Ivory Jack, #8534 LTG Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Has anyone installed a R. Roy wrap themselves? Are they pretty easy to make look good? Howdy Rube, I am lucky enough to have Roy as a friend, so he installed the wraps himself. It took him about 20 minutes to install both of the wraps in the photos above. Installing them yourself is easy...Pit Bull Tex and Paladin Gun For Hire both installed theirs themselves.
Pit Bull Tex Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 I have put on five of Roy's wraps and with the paper he sends with the wrap It is easy and looks really good.I put his warps on three 92s one marlin 39 and my grandson's henry.
The Original Bad Bob Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Cantcha just use tennis racket handle wrap? The leather stuff?
Pit Bull Tex Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 I have not bought a tennis wrap in a long long time but the good wraps when I played were I think maybe 7 or 8 bucks and were about 5/8" to 3/4" wide. I think that they would be hard to wrap around the lever and get it really smooth.Maybe not
Abe E.S. Corpus SASS #87667 Posted February 5, 2011 Posted February 5, 2011 You CAN use a lot of things; the simplest would be a leather thong wrapped like a coil and tied off at the end. It would be better than nothing, and cheap. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that. When I saw one of Roy's baseball stitched wrap I thought it looked nice. Sort of a neat and tasteful look. I don't care for fringes, beads or feathers hanging down (if you do, great; we can still be friends). Roy's wrap cost 20 bucks delivered. A relative bargain compared to some stuff I've bought.
