As many of you know, I've had cancer in the past and been cancer free now for a couple years. I have known it would come back someday, and it has now. That's the bad, the good is the Radiation Dr. treating me told me today he is 99% certian he can get it all in about 5 weeks of treatments. Again, it will come back sometime, but the more I can put it off, the better I like it.

I got up this morning thinking the Dr. would tell me to get my things in order, now I can be a pain in the a$$ to people for much longer than I thought.

This started on thursday morning when I was taken to the Alamance Hospital with a suspected stroke. CT Scan showed 1 fairly lsrge tumor, and mulpital small ones in the affected area of my brain controling the motor skills for my left side. This caused swelling and bleading internaly in my brain. I was released on friday and am taking meds to controle the swelling and bleading, and actialy, I'm doing good. The news from thursday was not what I wanted for my birthday, but todays news makes up for it. This has turned into a good birthday, after all.

Last time, I cronicaled my experences, not for pitty or sympithy, but because cancer is much harder on friends and family than on the paitent. This time, I will simply post any major changes and an ocasional update.

I request that any prayers offered be not for me, but for my friends and family that want to help and worry, and simply care, to ease the feelings that there is nothing to say or do to help. God gives me the help I need. I would wish my friends to not worry or feel bad as much as possable. This will work out acording to God's wishes, and I'm good with that.

I will see you down the road, and intend to make as many shoots as I can this year, even if it's just to stop in and visit for a bit.

Good Luck to you Greeenriver! You've pulled through once and we'll watch you pull through again and again. I keep thinking of the song "You can't keep a good dog down!" that Charlie and his buddies sing on the movie "All Dogs go to Heaven". And they are singing it in a saloon over some beers if I am not mistaken. (And there is probably some whiskey in there too!)- Thanks to your hilarious facebook profile pic, I have dogs on my brain! And... you know that "D-O-G" backwards is "G-O-D"...and the big man upstairs is watching you, too. You and your family. Bless your heart for being so tough. We love you, Greeenriver. Sending lots of prayers and thoughts your way! See you soon! Jadyn

Holy cow, that's a heck of a lot better than what we thought when Dapper called me Saturday. I'm gonna call Finny and Tex back with the good news! I guess you'd call me one of them friends that was worried sick... but I'm happy as can be now! I'm babblin' with my fingers but it's nice to know the big guy still answers a prayer now and then. Be well amigo, and you do EVERYTHING that doctor tells ya to do! And give Jo a huge hug for me and let out a big sigh when ya do it!!!

Best wishes for you, I pray for strength for your family and friends, and that God's wisdom guides the hearts of all concerned. I know you would not want it, but you are to be truly admired for putting everyone else concerned ahead of your own worries. Your words give REAL meaning to the cowboy way. God Bless, Louie....

Hot diggity gosh dang. When Cass called me, I was really down. I wanted to email you but didn't want to bother you. Thanks for your kind thoughts but I've been praying for you, such that they are. You take care of your onery self and we will take care of the messages to the big guy in the sky. I look forward to seeing you sometime this summer. I wish you only the best and hope for a more than favorable outcome in your upcoming treatments. You hang in there, I'm pulling for you.

So very sorry to hear the bad news. Glad to hear there is a good side to it. When I hear stories like this, I realize just how lucky I was. If it wasn't for that kidney stone attack, I wouldn't have known that I had cancer until it spread to other organs. My cancer was contained in the kidney, and the cure was to remove the kidney. No radiation, no chemo, no experimental drugs, just remove the kidney. Scarry to hear on day 1, but looking back it was a piece of cake. Not my favorite kind, but still, not what others have to go through.

Prayers up and will be looking forward to meeting you and shaking your hand at the St. Jude's Shoot. Marshal Morgun

Greeenriver,

You've got the right attitude pard, that is half the battle.

I'll be praying for your friends and family as requested -- but I might slip a line or two in there for you too, just the same.

Best of luck and God Bless,

TMM
