Easy Emily SASS #73673 Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 Please share any ideas, patterns ideas on the fantastic hats you have. I know I would like to fancy up my hat collection but find ready made ones can be expensive.
Allie Mo, SASS No. 25217 Posted January 15, 2011 Posted January 15, 2011 Hi Meg, I've only made two hats. I don't think I'm very good at decorating them. You can buy patterns, parts, assembled, or finished hats from Denise Nadine here. I also think Mrs. Purdy is quite reasonable and very nice to deal with. Or, Calico Lassie on eBay. She custom made a hat for me. You can get ideas by looking at their designs. Also, I love the NY Public Library site for their fashion plates. When I had Calico Lassie make a hat for me, it was one I found in a fashion plate. From the drop down list here, select a 10 year period starting with the word Costume. For example, Costume -- 1880s -- French. They have other countries too. You can find more links in the Sewing forum at Belle Alley. Enjoy! Allie Mo
