northman
Pards, I have a Pietta Sheriff's Colt's Model 1862 cap and ball revolver. It's a .36 with beautiful walnut grips, steel frame and with a brass trigger guard/back strap. It has a 5 ½ inch barrel. Bought this along with a few other Civil War pistols some time ago. The fella that I purchased these from was a Civil War re-enactor, not a shooter and this one appears to be unfired. I never fired it either nor disassembled it. Looks new and is very tight. SPF shipped in the CONUS. This is a black powder replica and can be shipped direct to you in most states. 1/17/11 I took this apart today, there was still grease around the nipples and I had to make a nylon punch to take out the wedge, it was that tight. I'm positive it was never apart much less fired. The only reason that I'm selling it is I have a .44 C&B and mold and really don't want to get into .36 cal right now. http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c231/sgtgrs/1862.jpg http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c231/sgtgrs/18621.jpg http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c231/sgtgrs/18623.jpg http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c231/sgtgrs/18624.jpg

SGT. QUINCANNON, SASS #32999
Strictly speaking, I believe this is a 5 1/2" barreled 1861 navy, not a true pocket model sized frame. Interested in any trades?

Here's a link to a site that has this model. I agree its a 1861 Navy .36 but the shorter barrel C&B guns are often referred to as Sheriff's models although they probably never really existed. Although there was a 1862 Police that seems to have the 1860 frame with a shorter 5.5 barrel in .36. I'm not enough of an authority on these weapons to 100% correct. http://www.marstar.ca/gf-pietta/Pietta-1862-Police.shtm Send me a PM I may be interested in a trade depending on what you may have. Thanks!

northman
Interested in a swap for a Russian Nagant revolver? Had a couple of those. The last one I bought at a GS about a year ago I give $100.00 for it with some ammo and a commie holster.Nice looking and well built but didn't really suite me much so I sold it. I'll have to pass on that trade. Thanks anyway.
