Browning 1885 Low Wall 243 Win sold

Recommended Posts

Browning 1885 Low Wall 243 Winchester. Beautiful wood with custom checkering. A few small handling marks. 24 inch barrel. Comes with bases and rings. I don't know what brand of rings, but they are very smooth and look expensive. SOLD Just pulled it out of the safe and wanted to see if any cowboys had any interest before posting on Gunbroker. Thanks Geronimo Jim As always, 3 day inspection.

You might change your heading to "Browning 1885 Low wall". Beautiful wood on that one! The rings look like Browning rings.

For trivia; Browning did make the B-78 in 243, but they are very rare and do not have the scalloped receiver and falling block of the newer low wall guns. The 1885 also has the rebounding hammer, unlike the B-78.

I've got one of these guns, and it will shoot the same hole at 100 yds. This thing is easy to carry, and my favorite hunting gun for everything up to deer. These are not real plentiful..... not just nice, but a GREAT gun!

This shows the difference in the original hi luster finish and check out the difference in checkering ...can see it on the top of wrist.
