Kiowa Kid, SASS #69870L Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY! 45 o and no wind. It was gorgeous. But only 14 shooters braved the adverse forecast. Okay, I lied. It was 7 below zero when we started shooting at 10:00, and about 0 when we finished the 6th stage. Sometimes the wind blew and we were miserable, and sometimes it only blew a little and we were just cold. After the Match we repaired to Gideon Walker's house, north of Woodland Park to help him celebrate his 70th birthday and his first match as Elder Statesman ~ and he won his category! Look out Rosita! Thanks to Gideon and his lovely bride, Scary Sherry, for a fine feast, libations and welcoming us into their beautiful (WARM) home! el Gato Gordo Copied and posted by Kiowa Kid
Kiowa Kid, SASS #69870L Posted January 4, 2011 Author Posted January 4, 2011 14 braved the elements, I don't think brave would have been the word I used, but it was a test of stamina. KK
GW Ryder, SASS #50690 Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Kiowa, I had some thought of driving down to join you, but after my wife smacked me upside the head, I came to my senses. Glad you enjoyed it. I'll see you down the road when it's above zero... GW

Cyrus Cassidy #45437 Posted January 5, 2011 Posted January 5, 2011 I miss shooting with you guys...see you in a few months!!! Of course it will be warm then I do recall, however, a few years back having a Christmas potluck after our December shoot. It was a blizzard, but we shot anyway despite the crappy road conditions, and Brother Chuck locked his keys in his truck. DOH!
