Any reccommendations on where to stay and things to do? We'll likely have the ol' dog with us so need a place that is canine friendly. Thanks in advance. Okie Sawbones, SASS #77381
We stayed there a few years ago after visiting Canyon de Chelly and Window Rock. I don't remember much of anything to do in the town itself. If you're bringing a dog, check out bringfido.com and petswelcome.com. They give you a list of pet friendly motels, costs, and weight limits.
Utah Bob #35998
Have a meal at Earl's. Great food. The local Navajo and Zuni artists show off their stuff there but won't bug you. Richardson's Trading post is a fascinating place. We've bought a few Navajo blankets and some jewelry there. The Rex Museum has some nice historical exhibits and the Santa Fe Railroad Depot does too. City Electric has a boatload of leathercrafting supplies. The funky old El Ranch hotel is interesting. All the western actors used to stay there when filming in the area. The Comfort Inn and The Econo Lodge are pet friendly.
