I was proud to vote for this man.

Lone Dog, SASS #20401
Commuted and pardoned ain't the same. As a convicted felon the man has lost his gun rights. The governor should have pardoned him, restoring his rights.
Col. Nathan C. Riddles, SASS # 7462
Commuted and pardoned ain't the same. As a convicted felon the man has lost his gun rights. The governor should have pardoned him, restoring his rights. Not only should he have pardoned him, he should have also declared him innocent of the charges & ordered the police department to return his guns in the same condition they were in when they took them. If that couldn't be done they should be forced to immediately replace them with identical new guns. He also refused to reappoint the judge to the bench & rightfully so. Poppy
Very sad case and makes me glad I live I Texas. And I agree the man should be given his firearms back and all charges dropped... but first move South
DocWard
A commutation doesn't mean that a pardon can't be done. It also clears the way for him to seek expungement of his record, something possibly made easier with the sentencing judge gone. I am hoping to hear about a full pardon in the near future.
